Niall has a wealth of experience in helping businesses select and retain strategic, commercial HR talent, combined with hands on experience of growing and developing his own businesses.

Although originally from Northumberland, Niall is no stranger to the East of England and the SME market. Following an early military career as an Army Officer, he and his wife opened and successfully ran a restaurant business in 1989 for six years in Oundle near Peterborough, but has also lived in Hertfordshire, Suffolk and recently moved to Cambridge.

Niall knows the perils and pitfalls of starting businesses and like many quickly “retreated” from the Dot Com Boom back in 2001, and became a specialist Human Resource Head Hunter initially working for Courtenay HR and latterly as Head of HR Executive Search with Penna Plc.

Along with his business partner Mark Childs, he founded the Total Reward Group in 2006 and sold the business to the US Insurance giant AJ Gallagher (sponsors of Premiership Rugby) in 2017.

Niall developed his HR knowledge and specialism working first for Mercuri Urval in the area of Psychometric Assessment and Development. He was a pioneer of this predictive performance tool in the then fledgling Graduate Recruitment Market with businesses such as Merrill Lynch, GKN and GSK. Niall coached business owners and leaders in leadership, succession planning, talent mapping and career development programmes in addition to difficult restructuring and downsizing programmes.

Niall is a keen cyclist and was able to combine his interest with business when he worked as part time Head of HR and Recruitment for Rapha during a rapid expansion of the business in 2013. Increasing the headcount by over 30% in nine months. Rapha was subsequently bought by the grandsons of Walmart founder and their firm RZC Investments for £200 million.

Niall is a graduate of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and Leeds Polytechnic.

Lynn was tasked with a series of HR related tasks ranging from advice on legal compliance issues to strategic overviews and the implementation of a restructuring program. All have been successful, exceeding my expectations.
